Podcast faves

I never said the post-everyday thing was going to have a theme alright? Just like my life it's about to get all over the place...

People often ask me what I listen to on long runs ( by people I mean 2 friends messaged me on instagram.. basically ALL my biggest fans you guys ) but it is no secret I am a huge podcast junkie. Now true crime is definitely a favorite genre normally however for long runs my heart just can't handle it all. My preference is probably more snooze worthy but I normally stick to a couple topics that feel like I am on a run chatting with a friend. Most fall under the categories running-motherhood-faith-military life. Also as most friends know, I do not actually run with friends often partly because of the sporadic timing of daily runs and also because I run to get away from all the people. Sorry. I still love you all just only a few enough to spend hours running with. In my early parenting years when cable was a still a think ( think mail in DVD netflix era ) Regis and Kelly was my jam. I am a huge sucker for the brainless interviews between friends and not-so secretly always dreamed of being Kelly Ripa only partially for her arms. This is where I am coming from friends on my top podcast faves for the long run-

10. OOPPRRAHHHHH
Alright, can't stop won't stop here. Just like her show we all raced home for at 4pm in the 90s to watch ( just me ? ) but better. More modern. I love her openness toward all humans and way to really dig deep into souls of others in her aptly named " Super Soul Conversations."

9. Life-giver Podcast
Lots of great interviews here with military and first responder families. A couple solid interviews that stick with me are the one with Taya Kyle , who always inspires me, and one series with some chaplains spouses.

8. For the Love : Jen Hatmaker
If you know and Love Jen's books and online presence, you won't be disappointed. If you don't love her or agree with her- then you will. I personally adore her and listen to mostly every episode!

7. Relevant Podcast
There are so many episodes here that if I ever just want a good laugh and conversation they don't let me down. Relevant magazine , if you've never heard of it, is known for connecting current world news and Christian culture. I love their humor . Anyone that can perfectly make fun of themselves is the best and this group does it SO well.

6. C. Tolle Run
Former Olympic runner as well as a huge voice in the running world interviewing other runners. Enough said. She's a midwesterner and it shows in her humility for sure!

5. Lindsey Hein- I'll have another
Her lineup is always solid. After big races she always has great interviews . I do not love her interviewing style as it always seems a little too perfectionist, but as a Mom of 4 littles  I am sure that every episode takes a LOT to nail perfectly which she does.

4. Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey-
Another Christian Women's podcast but with a very real and honest voice. Her vulnerability speaks to me and I really feel like we are hanging out on a run listening to her interviews.

3. Another Mother Runner-
I have followed these women for nearly a decade after reading their book as a new Mama. They were the first blog I ever read and naturally listen to all of their interviews . BONUS that one of my favorite Mamas was recently interviewed BY THEM on the podcast after we met them together over the summer. Listen to the episode with stroller strong moms if you do nothing else!

2. Ali on the Run-
FAVORITE running podcast. Why ? She feels like a friend. She is not at athlete. She is a new Mom and has been very honest about how HARD IT IS! She's your everyday middle of the pac runner living in New York who loves her husband puppy and new baby. I love hearing her interview such big name runners in a down to earth format!

1. Annie F Downs- That sounds fun
Annie is just my girl. My people know this. I love her style in every way. We both love the enneagram personality stuff and are both 7s! All the glitter + fun with none of the hard stuff ( we wish) But her books are so honest and her voice is just one to listen to. She is a believer but she doesn't focus on being a Christian podcast- she interviews all of her friends from different walks of life. She is the real deal though and I just want to be her friend , I mean we are but she doesn't know it yet.

Honorable mentions: Journeywomen,  Let's get Unraveled, The runners world show, Next Gen Mil Spouse, Casas ( my old Church in Tucson... the sermons are always solid an inspiring as well as biblically sound  ) Run to the top, Dear Daughters, Business with purpose, Beyond the Secret with Ace Fanning* Not for the faint or sensitive ears for language and explicit topics , Go + Tell gals, Read Aloud-revival, Arm chair expert.... I COULD GO ON FOR DAYS!

Enjoy!
